2023 Season Kickoff

Hope everyone’s offseason went by quickly! Very excited to have the gang back and hopefully some new victims/friends. Although I have little intention of ceding the crown… plenty of opportunities to take home a little $$ + accolades for 2nd, etc. :).

As a refresher… Weekly Pick Sheet page is where you find the weekly pick sheets… tried to make that element pretty self-explanatory but let me know of any questions/concerns (hopefully none). This is an old school, excel based pool which continues to add to its allure. Make sure that you email your pick sheet to me (hyperlink to my email on that page as well) ahead of first kickoff for the respective week. If you get in a bind, at least send me your pick + points for the first game (i.e. Thursday night game) + fill out accordingly when you submit. Ideally get all your picks in ahead of the first game but understand life happens.

If you’re new to the pool… check out the Rules page. Pretty straightforward confidence pool but a couple twists and turns worth noting. “Wager Game” of the week is double points (correct pick) or negative (waa waa waaaa) based on your allocation… these are generally the picks that really create separation. The pool goes all the way thru the Super Bowl and all post-season games are wager games which adds to the chaos a bit. If you suck, you have an opportunity to reboot and jump into a side pool (no additional cost… just less reward) beginning Week 12. Everyone that jumps ship will transfer into the side pool (aka “Hot Tub”) and those respective scores reset to 0… side pool winner takes all from that point on. I’ll remind everyone that week but this is also noted on the Week 12 Pick Sheet + drop down option in the file which lets me know your verdict. You also need to pick the teams that you think will matchup in the Super Bowl on the Week 2 Pick Sheet (towards the bottom)… bonus points awarded for correct picks. Anyhow, all that stuff can be found in the rules but that’s the speed read if you just want to get straight to it.

Entry fee is $25 for the season… PayPal/Venmo work great but paper currency and checks also accepted. Look forward to another awesome season… football is back!!
